Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the contact surfaces between the power transfer unit and the transmission.

    Power Transfer Unit Face Seal (1) - Install NEW

  3. Support the power transfer unit with a suitable jack, and secure with suitable straps.

    Power Transfer Unit Case (1) @Transmission - Install

    Power Transfer Unit Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [3x] 100N.m (74 lb ft)

    Power Transfer Unit Bolt (1) - Install and tighten100N.m (74 lb ft)

    Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose (2) @Power Transfer Unit Case (3) - Connect

  8. Power Transfer Unit Vent Hose Retainer (1) @Turbocharger Outlet Duct Connector - Connect
  9. Propeller Shaft@Transfer Case - Install - Two-Piece Propeller Shaft Replacement

    Power Transfer Unit Bracket (2) - Install - Power Transfer Unit Bracket Replacement

    Position the wiring harness then install the retainers (2).

  12. Electrical Connector (1) - Connect [2x]
  13. Fill the power transfer unit to the bottom of the power transfer unit fill plug hole with the recommended fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , and Approximate Fluid Capacities

    Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield (2) - Install - Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement

    Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft- Right Side (1) - Install - Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (AWD) , or Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3U, MHG, MNH, MNK with FWD) , or Front Wheel Drive Half Shaft Replacement - Right Side (M3D, M3H with FWD)
