Drive Motor Power Inverter Module Description and Operation: Overview
The K107 drive motor control module, often referred to as the drive motor generator power inverter module, converts high voltage direct current (DC) electrical energy to 3 phase alternating current (AC) electrical energy. The K107 drive motor control module operates the M160 drive motor based upon hybrid/EV powertrain control module commands. The K107 drive motor control module is cooled with pre-mixed Dexcool® circulating directly through the module as one part of the Power Electronics Coolant Loop.
The vehicle may contain more than one drive motor control module based upon option content. The K107A drive motor control module is located on the top of front transmission. K107B drive motor control module 2 is located on the top of right side rear transmission (right side is a dual motor option), and K107C drive motor control module 3 is located on the top of the left side rear transmission.
