Installation Procedure

    Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) - Install

    If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:

    1. Remove any loose cured adhesive from the external threads of the component using a lint free cloth.
    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Intermediate Steering Shaft Lower Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Extension- Rear (4) - Install

  6. Front Bumper Fascia Extension Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [ 4x ] - Fastener Specifications

    Front Bumper Fascia Extension (1) - Install

    Front Bumper Fascia Extension Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [ 8x ] - Fastener Specifications

  9. Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 10x ] - Fastener Specifications

    {without RC1} Install the underbody skid shield.

    1. Underbody Skid Shield (2) - Install
    2. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 4x ] - Fastener Specifications

    NOTE:

    The proper position of the underbody skid shield is between the underbody splash shield and the front frame.

    {with RC1} Install the underbody skid shield.

    1. Underbody Skid Shield (3) - Install
    2. Underbody Splash Shield Bolt (2) - Install and tighten [ 2x ] - Fastener Specifications
    3. Underbody Skid Shield Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 2x ] - Fastener Specifications
  12. Lower the vehicle.

    Upper Intermediate Steering Shaft (1) @ Intermediate Steering Shaft - Install

    If a NEW threaded component is being installed, loosen the adhesive using a metal pick or similar tool before proceeding. If threaded component is reused, prepare the threaded component using the following steps:

    2. Thread the cleaned component into the internal mating threads and remove to loosen trapped cured adhesive.
    3. Apply thread locking adhesive to the external threads of the component. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers 
    4. Ensure there are no gaps in the thread locking adhesive once applied to the component.
  15. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  16. Mid Intermediate Steering Shaft Bolt (1) - Install and tighten - Fastener Specifications 
  17. Front Wheelhouse Liner- Left Side - Install - Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement
  18. Install the left front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Aluminum Wheel)
  19. Remove the device used to prevent steering column rotation.
