Installation Procedure

NOTE:
The front strut mount MUST be installed in the proper orientation. Ensure the match marks on the front strut mount and the front suspension strut match the outboard direction as marked before removing the assembly from the vehicle.

Position the front suspension strut assembly (1) on the vehicle.

CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .

Front Suspension Strut Upper Mounting Bolt (1) - Install and tighten [ 4x ] 32 N.m (24 lb-ft)

WARNING:
This vehicle is equipped with torque-to-yield or single use fasteners. Install a NEW torque-to-yield or single use fastener when installing this component. Failure to replace the torque-to-yield or single use fasteners could cause damage to the vehicle, component, or bodily injury.

Steering Knuckle Bolt (2) - Install NEW [ 2x ]
Steering Knuckle Nut (1) - Install and tighten [ 2x ]
Tighten
1. First Pass: 100 N.m (74 lb-ft)
2. Final Pass: (45 - 60 degrees)

Front Stabilizer Shaft Link (1) @ Strut Assembly - Install - Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Equinox) , or Stabilizer Shaft Link Replacement (Terrain)

Front Wheel Speed Sensor Retainer (1) - Install - Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (Left) , or Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (Right)

Front Wheel Speed Sensor Grommet (1) - Install - Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (Left) , or Front Wheel Speed Sensor Replacement (Right)
Front Brake Hose @ Front Suspension Strut - Install - Front Brake Hose Replacement
Install the front tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
Measure and adjust the wheel alignment. Wheel Alignment Measurement
