Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

    Install a NEW drain plug (2) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb-ft).

  2. Fill the transfer case to the bottom of the fill plug hole with the recommended fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , or Approximate Fluid Capacities .
  3. Install a NEW fill plug (1) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb-ft).
  4. Install the power transfer unit heat shield, if equipped. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement (M3D transmission with LSY engine) 
  5. Lower the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
