Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2021 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X1 electrical connector at the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module.
  2. Connect a 3 A fused jumper between the control circuit terminal 10 and B+.
  3. Verify a test lamp illuminates between Fuse F4DA and ground.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the 3 A fuse is OK
    1. Ignition OFF, remove the fused jumper wire, disconnect the electrical connector at the X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel.
    2. Test for less than 10 Ω between the ground circuit terminal 23AA and ground.
      • If 10 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance on the circuit or ground connection
      • Go to next step: If less than 10 Ω
    3. Test for less than 2 Ω in the control circuit end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω.
    4. Replace the X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel.
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate and the 3 A fuse is open
    1. Ignition OFF, remove the fused jumper wire, disconnect the electrical connector at the X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel.
    2. Test for infinite resistance between the control circuit terminal 10 at the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
    3. Replace the X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel.
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp illuminates
  4. Ignition OFF, remove the fused jumper wire
  5. Ignition ON, verify the test lamp does not illuminate between Fuse F4DA and ground
    • If the test lamp illuminates
    1. Disconnect the electrical connector at the X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel.
    2. Test for less than 1 V between control circuit terminal 10 at the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module and ground.
      • If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If less than 1 V.
    3. replace the X51A Fuse Block - Instrument Panel.
    • Go to next step: If the test lamp does not illuminate
  6. Replace the K84 Keyless Entry Control Module.
