Installation Procedure
- CAUTION:
Refer to Fastener Caution .
Install the generator (5) into position and tighten the stud (4) to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the harness bracket (2) and the generator mounting bolts (1). Tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Install the generator mounting nut (3) and tighten to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
Connect the engine harness connector (1) to the generator.
Connect the throttle body connector (1) and attach the throttle body harness retainer (2) to the engine harness bracket.
- Attach the engine harness retainer (3) to the engine harness bracket.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
Install the battery positive cable (2) to the generator stud and tighten the nut (1) to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).
- Slide the protective boot (3) onto the generator stud.
- Install the underbody splash shield. Refer to Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (without ZR2) , or Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (with ZR2) , or Underbody Splash Shield Replacement (Bison) .
- Install the steering gear skid shield. Refer to Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement (without ZR2) , or Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement (with ZR2) , or Steering Gear Skid Shield Replacement (Bison) .
- Position the engine front splash shield. Refer to Engine Front Splash Shield Replacement .
- Install the right front wheelhouse liner. Refer to Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Without ZR2) , or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (With ZR2) , or Front Wheelhouse Liner Replacement (Bison) .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
- Install the radiator inlet hose - LCV radiator to inlet pipe. Refer to Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV Radiator to Inlet Pipe) , or Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement (LCV Inlet Pipe to Water Outlet) .
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
