Installation Procedure

  1. Fill the transfer case to the bottom of the fill plug hole with the recommended fluid. Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers , and Approximate Fluid Capacities .
  2. Install a NEW fill plug (1) and seal and tighten to 40 N.m (30 lb ft).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Caution .

  3. Install the power transfer unit heat shield, if equipped. Power Transfer Unit Heat Shield Replacement (M3D transmission with LTG engine)
