Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2022 Cadillac CT5. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Cruise Control Switch Signal

    NOTE:

It may take up to 2 minutes for all vehicle systems to power down before an accurate ground or low reference circuit continuity test can be performed.

  1. Ignition/Vehicle Off and all vehicle systems Off.
  2. Disconnect the harness connector at the S70L Cruise Control Switch.
  3. Test for less than 10 Ω between circuit 1449 and ground.
    • If 10 Ω or greater
    1. Ignition/Vehicle Off.
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in circuit 1449 end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • If less than 2 Ω, repair the open/high resistance in the ground connection.
    • Go to next step: If less than 10 Ω
  4. Ignition/Vehicle Off, disconnect the harness connector at the K90 Body Control Module.
    1. Test for infinite resistance between circuit 1884 and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in circuit 1884 end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω
    3. Test for less than 1 V between circuit 1884 and ground.
      • If 1 V or greater, repair the short to voltage on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If less than 1 V
  5. Test or replace the S70L Cruise Control Switch.
  6. Verify that no cruise control DTCs are set while operating the vehicle under the conditions for setting the DTC.
    • If any of the DTCs are set

Replace the K9 Body Control Module.

    • Go to next step: If none of the DTCs are set
  7. All OK.

Adaptive Cruise Control Gap Up/Down Switch Signal

    1. Test for infinite resistance between circuit 5737 and ground.
      • If less than infinite resistance, repair the short to ground on the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If infinite resistance
    2. Test for less than 2 Ω in circuit 5737 end to end.
      • If 2 Ω or greater, repair the open/high resistance in the circuit.
      • Go to next step: If less than 2 Ω
    3. Test for less than 1 V between circuit 5737 and ground.
