Reprogram Control Module

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 GMC Terrain and 2018 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:

Reprogramming a TRCM does not require setup. TRCM setup is only required when you have removed the TRCM, loosened the fasteners to the TRCM mounting bracket, modified the adjustment rod/linkage, or tampered with the interface between the TRCM and the transmission.

To program an existing control module, perform the following procedure:

  1. Access the Service Programming System (SPS) and follow the on-screen instructions.
  2. On the SPS Supported Controllers screen, select K173 Transmission Range Control Module - Programming and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. At the end of programming, choose the "Clear All DTCs" function on the SPS screen.
