Circuit/System TestingDTC B395A 39, 3C
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Replace the component:B87 Rearview Camera
- Verify DTC B395A is not set.
- If DTC B395A is not set
All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC B395A is set
- If DTC B395A is not set
- Replace the component:K157 Video Processing Control Module
Circuit/System TestingDTC B395A 08
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:X3@K157 Video Processing Control Module
- Wait for greater than 5 s.
- Connect appropriate EL-52552pinout tool to K157 Video Processing Control Module
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Test for 7 to 11 V between the test points:Signal circuit terminal 2-RD@K157 Video Processing Control Module & Ground(component side)
- If not between 7 and 11 V
Replace the component:K157 Video Processing Control Module
- Go to next step: If between 7 and 11 V
- If not between 7 and 11 V
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Disconnect the electrical connector:B87 Rearview Camera
- Connect appropriate EL-52552pinout tool to Coax Cable
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the test points:Coax Cable Center & The other end of the circuit
- If 5 ohms or greater
Replace the component:Coax Cable
- Go to next step: If less than 5 ohms
- If 5 ohms or greater
- Test for less than 5 ohms between the test points:Coax Cable Outer Shield & The other end of the circuit
- If 5 ohms or greater
Replace the component:Coax Cable
- Go to next step: If less than 5 ohms
- If 5 ohms or greater
- Test for infinite resistance between the test points:Coax Cable Outer Shield & Coax Cable Center
- If less than infinite resistance
Replace the component:Coax Cable
- Go to next step: If infinite resistance
- If less than infinite resistance
- Replace the component:B87 Rearview Camera
- Apply the parking brake.
- Engine RunningTransmission in Reverse
- Verify DTC B395A is not set.
- If the DTC is set
Replace the component:K157 Video Processing Control Module
- Go to next step: If the DTC is not set
- If the DTC is set
- All OK.
Before testing the coax cable, check the cable's exterior for being pinched, cut, damaged, or having loose connections at the components, all of which can cause reception issues.
If the condition is intermittent or cannot be duplicated, disconnect the connectors and add dielectric grease or lubricant (Nyogel 760G or equivalent, meeting GM specification 9986087). This procedure will correct the high resistance condition due to terminal fretting corrosion.

- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Perform the scan tool control function:Reset Camera Alignment Learned Values
- Verify DTC B395A is not set.
- If DTC B395A is not set
All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC B395A is set
- If DTC B395A is not set
- Operate the vehicle under the following conditions:
- During the day
- On a straight road
- Distance Traveled=Greater than 0.5 km (0.3 mi)
- Ignition/Vehicle & All vehicle systems - Off
- Wait for greater than 60 s.
- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Verify DTC B395A is not set.
- If DTC B395A is not set
All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC B395A is set
- If DTC B395A is not set
- Test or replace the component:B87 Rearview Camera
- Verify DTC B395A is not set.
- If DTC B395A is not set
All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC B395A is set
- If DTC B395A is not set
- Test or replace the component:K157 Video Processing Control Module

- Ignition - On / Vehicle - In Service Mode
- Place vehicle in an area where a ambient temperature is 15 - 25° C (59 - 77° F) with engine OFF.
- Wait at least 30 minutes.
- Verify DTC B395A is not set.
- If DTC B395A is not set
All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC B395A is set
- If DTC B395A is not set
- Replace the component:B87 Rearview Camera
- Verify DTC B395A is not set.
- If DTC B395A is not set
All OK.
- Go to next step: If DTC B395A is set
- If DTC B395A is not set
- Replace the component:K157 Video Processing Control Module
DTC B395A 53 and 54 can set due to extreme environment temperature conditions and not necessarily due to a camera system defect.
