Removal Procedure

WARNING:

Refer to Brake Dust Warning .

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (6-Lug Wheel)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (8-Lug Wheel)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Dual Rear Wheels) .
  3. Remove the front brake rotor. Front Brake Rotor Replacement (JD9)Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J95)Front Brake Rotor Replacement (J96) .
  4. Disconnect the front wheel speed sensor electrical connector.
  5. GM3256100

    Release the front wheel speed sensor harness electrical connector (1) from the brake hose bracket.

  6. Release the front wheel speed sensor harness retainers (2).
  7. GM3256102

    Clean the front wheel speed sensor area on the wheel hub and bearing assembly of any accumulated dirt and debris.

  8. Remove the front wheel speed sensor bolt (1).
  9. Remove the front wheel speed sensor assembly from the wheel hub and bearing assembly by pulling straight out.
