Installation Procedure

  1. GM4285236

    Battery (3) - Install

  2. Battery Hold Down Retainer (2) - Install
    3. CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution

  3. Battery Hold Down Bolt (1) - Install and tighten 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
  4. Install the engine control module bracket along with the engine control module to the battery tray. Engine Control Module Bracket Replacement
  5. GM4285235

    Battery Hold Down Retainer (3) - Install

  6. Battery Hold Down Retainer Bolt (2) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  7. Battery Hold Down Retainer Nut (1) - Install and tighten 9 N.m (80 lb in)
  8. GM4399949

    Battery Distribution Fuse Block Retaining Tab (1) - Engage (Qty: 2)

  9. Battery Positive Post Clamp Nut (4) - Tighten 4.5 N.m (40 lb in)
  10. GM4285233

    Close the battery fuse block cover. (2)

  11. Battery Distribution Fuse Block Retaining Tab (1) - Engage
  12. Connect the negative battery cable. Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Without KL9) Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (With KL9)
