Removal Procedure

    WARNING:

    Refer to Gasoline/Gasoline Vapors Warning .

    WARNING:

    Refer to Safety Glasses Warning .

  1. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe housing. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Housing Replacement .
    2. Fig 1: Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Bolts And Pipe

  2. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe bolts (1) from the fuel tank filler pipe (2).
  3. Remove the pickup box wheelhouse panel. Refer to Rear Wheelhouse Liner Replacement .
  4. Remove the evaporative emission system vacuum leak pump filter assembly. Refer to Evaporative Emission System Vacuum Leak Pump Filter Replacement .

  5. Remove the fuel tank filler hose clamp (1).
  6. Remove the fuel tank filler hose (2) from the fuel tank filler pipe (4).
  7. Disconnect the fuel tank vent hose (3) from the fuel tank filler pipe (4). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .

  8. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe (1) from the vehicle.
