Installation Procedure

    CAUTION:

    Do not allow the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring to come into contact with external magnetic fields or sharp metal objects. Do not drop the crankshaft position sensor reluctor ring. Do not damage the rubberized encoder track. Failure to follow these precautions may cause damage to the component.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  1. Install the crankshaft position sensor (2) and fastener (1) and tighten the fastener to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  2. Position the flywheel and crankshaft position sensor access cover (2) and install the cover fasteners (1) (Qty 2) and tighten the fastener to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
  3. Clip the crankshaft position sensor electrical wiring harness connector to the flywheel and crankshaft position sensor access cover.
  4. Install Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember. Refer to Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (4 Wheel Drive)Drivetrain and Front Suspension Frame Front Crossmember Replacement (2 Wheel Drive)
  5. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
  6. Using a scan tool, perform the crankshaft position reluctor wheel learn.
