Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear brake backing plate (1).
  2. Install the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
  3. Insert the parking brake cable end into the rear brake backing plate.

  5. Lift the parking brake actuator lever clip (1).
  6. Grasp the parking brake cable and push the cable into the rear brake backing plate until the cable end seats in the parking brake shoe actuator lever.
  7. Ensure the parking brake cable end is fully seated in the parking brake shoe actuator lever by attempting to pull the cable from the rear brake backing plate.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  9. Install the parking brake cable bolt (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
  10. Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement .
  11. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series) .
