Installation Procedure

- Install the rear brake backing plate (1).
- Install the rear wheel bearing and hub assembly. Refer to Rear Wheel Bearing and Hub Replacement .
- Insert the parking brake cable end into the rear brake backing plate.
- Lift the parking brake actuator lever clip (1).
- Grasp the parking brake cable and push the cable into the rear brake backing plate until the cable end seats in the parking brake shoe actuator lever.
- Ensure the parking brake cable end is fully seated in the parking brake shoe actuator lever by attempting to pull the cable from the rear brake backing plate.
- Install the parking brake cable bolt (1) and tighten to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
- Install the parking brake shoes. Refer to Parking Brake Shoe Replacement .
- Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series) .
