Installation Procedure

  1. Prepare the brake caliper bracket bolts and the bracket threaded holes for assembly:
    • Thoroughly clean the residue from the bolt threads with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
    • Thoroughly clean the residue from the threaded holes with denatured alcohol or equivalent and allow to dry.
    • Apply threadlocker to 2/3 of the threaded length of the caliper bracket bolts. Refer to Adhesives, Fluids, Lubricants, and Sealers ,
    • Ensure there are no gaps in the threadlocker along the length of the filled area of the bolts.
    • Allow the threadlocker to cure approximately 10 minutes before installation.
  2. Install the brake caliper bracket.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  4. Install the brake caliper bracket bolts (1) and tighten to 150 N.m (111 lb ft) + 30 degrees.

  6. Install the brake pad springs (1).

  8. Install the outer disc brake pad (1).
  9. Install the inner disc brake pad (2).
  10. Position the brake caliper to the brake caliper bracket.

  12. Using a backup wrench to hold the brake caliper guide pin stationary, install the brake caliper guide pin bolts (1) and tighten to 28 N.m (21 lb ft).
  13. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (Non V-Series)Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation (V-Series) .
