Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2015 GMC Terrain and 2015 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The infrared remote signal is used to transmit signals from the rear seat entertainment (RSE) remote control via pulse width modulated (PWM) signals to the radio. When a key on the remote is pressed, the remote control sends an infrared message to the infrared receiver located in the DVD display. The infrared receiver converts these infrared signals into a frequency and sends the message to the radio to perform the appropriate function. Both seatback displays contain receivers for the infrared remote, which are connected to common (+) and (-) signal circuits to the radio.
