Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .

  3. Release the power brake booster vacuum hose quick connect (1) from the power brake booster pump.

  4. Release the power brake booster vacuum hose from the front retaining clip (1).
  5. Reposition the power brake booster vacuum hose away from the generator.

  6. Slide the protective boot (1) away from the generator stud and remove the battery positive cable fastener (3).
  7. Remove the battery positive cable (2) from the generator stud.

  8. Disconnect the engine harness connector (1) from the generator.

  9. Loosen the generator mounting bolt (2) but do not remove.
  10. Remove the remaining generator mounting bolts (1) from the generator (3).

  11. Remove the generator (2) from the engine compartment.
