Installation Procedure
- Position the battery negative cable (1) into the engine compartment.
- Attach the battery current sensor (2) to the battery tray and connect the body harness connector (1).
- Install the battery negative cable terminal (5) to the wheel well and tighten the fastener (6) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Install the battery negative cable terminal (2) to the battery fuse block stud (3) and tighten the fastener (4) to 13 N.m (115 lb in).
- Close the battery fuse block cover (1).
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Install the battery negative cable terminal (1), to the chassis frame, and tighten the fastener (2) to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
- Connect the EPS connector (2) to the battery negative cable connector (1) and attach to the front crossmember.
- Install the battery negative cable terminal (2) to the engine block and tighten the fastener (1) to 58 N.m (43 lb ft).
- Install the left engine mount bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side .
- If equipped with 4WD, install the electric belt drive rack and pinion steering gear. Refer to Electric Belt Drive Rack and Pinion Steering Gear Replacement (4WD)Electric Belt Drive Rack and Pinion Steering Gear Replacement (2WD) .
- Install the underbody splash shield. Refer to Underbody Splash Shield Replacement .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the air cleaner outlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Outlet Duct Replacement .
- Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
