Removal Procedure

  1. Record all of the radio station presets.
  2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

  3. Remove the battery positive post clamp nut (2).
  4. Remove battery positive terminal (1) at the fuse block.
  5. Disconnect retainers (3) holding battery positive cable (4).

  6. Remove generator nut (1) from the generator B+ stud.
  7. Remove the starter solenoid nut (2).
  8. Remove the battery positive (Starter) cable (4) and the battery positive (Generator) cable (5) from the vehicle.
  9. Remove the retainers (3) holding the battery positive cables to the engine.
    NOTE:

    Observe how the battery positive cable was routed within the engine compartment.
