Power Steering Control Module Programming and Setup (Electronic Power Steering): Notes

The following service procedures require either a programming or a setup event performed for a complete repair.

The electronic power steering control module is part of the power steering assist motor assembly and is electronically paired with the steering gear's sensors.

If the complete steering gear INCLUDING the assist motor assembly was replaced, or for reprogramming of an existing power steering system WITHOUT replacement, refer to the Power Steering Control Module Programming and Setup (Electronic Power Steering) instructions in this article.
If ONLY the Power Steering Assist Motor assembly is replaced, follow the POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT instructions in POWER STEERING CONTROL MODULE CALIBRATION .
