Circuit/System Verification
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2012 GMC Terrain and 2012 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE:
Refer to Diagnostic Aids before performing Circuit/System Verification below.
- Observe the scan tool Forward Collision Alert Function Status parameter. The parameter should show Off, Disabled, Not Ready To Assist or Ready To Assist.
- If the parameter shows Malfunction, refer to Forward Collision Alert System Malfunction in Circuit/System Testing below.
- Drive the vehicle behind another vehicle with sufficient safety distance. The green vehicle ahead alert indicator in vehicle direction display should turn ON when the vehicle on the path ahead is detected. With no vehicle driving in front of the host vehicle, increasing the safety distance or changing the driving path, the green vehicle ahead alert indicator in the instrument panel should turn OFF.
- If the indicator does not turn ON and OFF, refer to Forward Collision Alert System Malfunction in Circuit/System Testing below.
- Inspect the area of the K109 Frontview Camera Module for contamination.
- If it needs to be cleaned, clean the windshield.
