Preliminary Procedure
Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill LML) , Cooling System Draining and Filling (Vac-N-Fill Diesel) .

Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor

CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .

Procedure

Disconnect the engine coolant temperature sensor harness connector.
If the scan tool DPF Soot Mass is less than 30 grams, enable the DPF. Refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Regeneration Enable .
If the scan tool DPF Soot Mass is 30 grams or greater, refer to Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Service Regeneration .

Tighten
20 N.m (15 lb ft)
