Circuit/System Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2010 GMC Terrain and 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the X4 harness connector at the X50A underhood fuse block.
  2. Connect a test lamp between B+ and the control circuit terminal K7.
  3. Ignition ON, use the fog lamp switch to turn the front fog lamps ON and OFF. The test lamp should turn ON and OFF when changing between the selected states.
    • If the test lamp is always ON, test the control circuit for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
    • If the test lamp is always OFF, test the control circuit for a short to voltage or an open/high resistance. If the circuit tests normal, replace the K9 BCM.
  4. If all circuits test normal, replace the X50A underhood fuse block.
