Preliminary Procedure Disconnect the negative battery cable.Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection . Remove the front bumper fascia opening cover. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Opening Cover Replacement (Equinox) or Front Bumper Fascia Opening Cover Replacement (Terrain) Reposition the engine control module bracket/battery hold-down retainer.Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement . Remove the positive battery cable from the battery post.Refer to Battery Positive Cable Replacement (LAF) or Battery Positive Cable Replacement (LFW)
1	Battery Cover
2	Engine Control Module Bracket Bolt CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution . Tighten: 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
3	Engine Control Module
4	Battery Retainer Bracket Bolt Tighten: 22 N.m (16 lb ft)
5	Battery Retainer Bracket Nut Tighten: 9 N.m (80 lb in)
