Circuit/System Testing

  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the harness connectors of the appropriate control module.
  2. Ignition OFF and scan tool disconnected, open and close the driver door, and wait 1 minute. Test for less than 5 Ω between the ground circuit terminals listed below and ground:
    • Terminal 1 X1, K29 Seat heating control module
    • Terminal 16, P16 Instrument cluster
    • Terminal 19, K36 Inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module
    • Terminal 1, K85 Passenger presence detection module
    • Terminal 3 X4, K40 Seat memory control module
    • Terminal 6 X4, K40 Seat memory control module
    • Terminal 11 X1, T11 Multimedia player interface module
    • Terminal 38 X1, A11 Radio
    • Terminal 7, K41 Parking assist control module
    • If greater than the specified range, test the ground circuit for an open/high resistance.
  3. Verify that a test lamp illuminates between the B+ circuit terminals listed below and ground:
    • Terminal 2 X1, K29 Seat heating control module
    • Terminal 31, P16 Instrument cluster
    • Terminal 32, P16 Instrument cluster
    • Terminal 2, K36 Inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module
    • Terminal A, K85 Passenger presence detection module
    • Terminal 1 X4, K40 Seat memory module
    • Terminal 5 X4, K40 Seat memory module
    • Terminal 1 X1, T11 Multimedia player interface module
    • Terminal 44 X1, A11 Radio
    • Terminal 1, K41 Parking assist control module
    • If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the B+ circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance.
  4. If the circuits test normal, replace the appropriate control module.
