Circuit/System Testing

IMPORTANT: Perform the Audio System Troubleshooting Hints  to properly identify the customers concern before using this diagnostic.
  1. Ignition OFF, disconnect the antenna coax cable from the radio. Verify there is less than 0.20 ohms between the negative battery cable and the coaxial cable metal outer shield.
    • If greater than specified value, repair faulty antenna mast base attachment (ground to the body) or replace the antenna coax cable.
  2. Disconnect the X2 radio antenna harness connector.
  3. Ignition ON and radio ON, verify there is greater than 9 volts on the radio on circuit terminal 1.
    • If less than specified value repair open, short to ground or replace the radio.
  4. Ignition OFF, disconnect the antenna coaxial cable from the radio.
  5. Verify there is less than 3.5 ohms between the antenna end coaxial cable center conductor and the radio end coaxial cable center conductor.
    • If greater than specified value, replace the coaxial cable.
  6. If the antenna coax cable tests normal replace the radio.
