Installation Procedure

Install the handle rod and lock cylinder rod to the outside door handle.

Install the door handle, with rods attached, to the door.
1. Insert the rods through cut out.
2. Rotate the handle into position.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .

Install the outside door handle nuts.
Tighten: Tighten the nuts to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
Connect the lock cylinder rod to the door latch.

Connect the door handle rod to the latch.
1. Insert the rod (1) into the clip (2) on the door latch assembly.
2. Close the clip.

Inspect for proper operation of the door handle and lock cylinder.
Install the theft shield into the door, if equipped.
Install the theft shield retainer (1) into the hole in the door handle.

Install the theft shield screws (2).
Tighten: Tighten the screws (2) to 7 N.m (62 lb in).
Install the water deflector. Refer to Front Side Door Water Deflector Replacement .
Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
