Circuit/System Description

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2008 Saturn Outlook, 2008 GMC Acadia, and 2008 Buick Enclave. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The electronic brake control module (EBCM) supplies ignition voltage to the steering angle sensor and the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor. The EBCM receives serial data messages from both the steering angle sensor and the yaw/lateral accelerometer sensor. The steering wheel speed position sensor is an input to the EBCM and provides the position of the steering wheel.

The steering wheel speed position sensor measures the steering wheel degree of rotation. The EBCM utilizes this signal to calculate the driver intended driving direction. The electronic brake control module (EBCM) receives CAN message inputs from the steering wheel speed position sensor identifying the position and direction of the steering wheel rotation.
