Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. 1:  Determines if the malfunction is present.
  2. 2:  Determines if the malfunction was due to no map DVD in the navigation module DVD player.

Step Action Yes No
1  Did you perform Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle? Go to Step 2  Go to Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle in Vehicle DTC Information
2  Insert map DVD into DVD player behind the sliding cover on the navigation radio. Make sure the DVD is positioned correctly.
Did you complete the installation of the DVD?		 Go to Step 3  -

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTC.
  2. Disconnect the scan tool.
  3. Turn OFF the ignition.
  4. Open then close the driver door to disable the retained accessory power (RAP) function.
  5. Do not activate any vehicle functions for one minute.
  6. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  7. Remove and reinsert the map DVD.
  8. Install a scan tool.
  9. Check for DTC B2463.
Does the DTC reset?		 Go to Step 4  Go to Step 5 
4 Replace the navigation radio. Refer to Control Module References in Computer/Integrating Systems.
Did you complete the repair?		 Go to Step 5  -
5
  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTC.
  2. Operate the vehicle within the Conditions for Running the DTC as specified in the supporting text.
Does the DTC reset?		 Go to Step 2  System OK
