Installation Procedure

    NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the power steering pump (3) bracket to the engine.
  2. Install the power steering pump bracket retaining bolts.

    Tighten:  Tighten the power steering pump bracket retaining bolts to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Install the power steering pump to the bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Replacement (4.3L)  or Power Steering Pump Replacement (4.8L, 5.3L and 6.0L)  or Power Steering Pump Replacement (8.1L)  or Power Steering Pump Replacement (6.6L Diesel)  or Power Steering Pump Replacement (5.3L w/RPO HP2) .

  4. Install the positive battery junction block bracket retaining bolts (2) to the power steering pump bracket.

    Tighten:  Tighten the battery junction block retaining bolts to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
