Installation Procedure

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Install the transfer case drain plug.
Tighten: Tighten the transfer case drain plug to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
Fill the transfer case with the proper amount of approved fluid. Refer to Capacities - Approximate Fluid .

Install the transfer case fill plug.
Tighten: Tighten the oil fill plug to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
Install the transfer case shield. Refer to Transfer Case Shield Replacement .
Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
