Removal Procedure

IMPORTANT: The following service procedure is for vehicle equipped with AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS ONLY. Vehicle equipped with manual transmissions are NOT equipped with a transfer case adapters.

  1. Remove the transfer case assembly. Refer to Transfer Case Assembly Replacement .
  2. Use a suitable transmission jack stand, support the automatic transmission.

  3. Remove the transfer case adapter mounting bolts.
  4. Remove the transfer case adapter from the transmission.
  5. Remove the transfer case adapter seal.

  6. Remove the transfer case gasket.
