Installation Procedure

Fig 1: Applying Sealant GM P/N 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) To The Oil Drain Plug Threads

Apply sealant to the oil drain plug threads. Use sealant GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Using J 36511 install the oil drain plug. See Special Tools .
Tighten: Tighten the oil drain plug to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

Fill the transmission to the level of the fill plug hole. Refer to Lubrication Specifications .

Apply sealant to the oil fill plug threads. Use sealant GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent.

UsingJ 36511 install the oil fill plug. See Special Tools .
Tighten: Tighten the oil fill plug to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
