Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the exhaust muffler. Refer to Muffler Muffler Replacement (4.3L, 4.8L & 5.3L Engines)  or Muffler Replacement (6.0L, 6.6L & 8.1L Engines)  .
  2. If equipped with a 6 1/2 ft box, remove the exhaust heat shield bolts.
  3. Remove the exhaust heat shield.

  4. If equipped with a 8 ft box, remove the exhaust heat shield bolts.
  5. Remove the exhaust heat shield.
