Shift Control Cable

CAUTION: Misadjusted shift linkage could cause transaxle clutch and/or band failure.
  1. Remove center console. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in appropriate SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS article in AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS.
  2. Place the gearshift lever in the NEUTRAL position. Place the transaxle in NEUTRAL by rotating the selector shaft clockwise from PARK through REVERSE to NEUTRAL.
  3. Pull the cable locking clip fully upward at the floor shift control. See Figure.
  4. Push the on the cable adjuster in order to adjust cable in the cable mounting bracket. Install center console.
