Removal Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2002 GMC Envoy XL, 2002 GMC Envoy, and 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove the windshield garnish moldings. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - WINDSHIELD PILLAR in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the trim pad. Refer to TRIM PAD REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) UPPER in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
    IMPORTANT: Cover the windshield defrost vents with clean shop rags.

  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
  5. In order to remove the sensor from the trim pad, rotate the sensor counter-clockwise 1/4 turn.

  6. Remove the sensor from the trim pad.
