Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 Oldsmobile Bravada, 2002 GMC Envoy XL, 2002 GMC Envoy, and 2002 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Position the radio to the I/P.
  2. Connect the electrical connectors to the radio.
  3. Connect the radio antenna cable to the radio.
  4. Position the radio rear alignment locator (1) into the I/P substrate.

    NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the 3 screws that retain the radio to the I/P.

    Tighten:  Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 lb in).

  6. Install the accessory trim plate. Refer to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (CHEVROLET) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (OLDSMOBILE) or to TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) ACCESSORY (CHEVROLET) or TRIM PLATE REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) Accessory (Oldsmobile) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  7. Install the lower closeout/insulator panel (GMC only). Refer to CLOSEOUT/INSULATOR PANEL REPLACEMENT - INSTRUMENT PANEL (I/P) LOWER (GMC/CHEVROLET) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  8. Install the center console shift lever bezel (Oldsmobile only). Refer to CONSOLE SHIFT LEVER BEZEL REPLACEMENT (OLDSMOBILE) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  9. If a replacement radio is installed, set up the radio. Refer to Radio Setup .
