Installation Procedure
- Install 2 new transfer tubes (12) into the combination valve (11).
- Install the combination valve (11) to the BPMV (3).NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
- Install the 3 Allen bolts (10) that fasten the combination valve (11) to the BPMV (3).
Tighten
Tighten the 3 Allen bolts to 8 N.m (6 lb ft), then to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
Important: Do not use RTV or any other type of sealant on the EBCM gasket or mating surfaces.
- Install the EBCM (2) to the EHCU (3).
Important: Do not reuse the EBCM mounting bolts (1). Always install new bolts.
- Install the 4 EBCM bolts (1).
Tighten
Tighten the 4 bolts to 5 N.m (39 lb in) in an X-pattern.
- Install the BPMV (3) to bracket (6).
- Install the 3 bracket retaining bolts (8) to the BPMV (3).
Tighten
Tighten the 3 bolts to 9 N.m (7 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connectors to the EBCM (2).
- Install the EHCU and bracket to the vehicle.
- Install the EHCU bracket to vehicle mounting bracket bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 12 N.m (9 lb ft).
- Install the brake pipes to combination valve (11) and the tube adapters (5).
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).
- Connect the electrical connector to the combination valve (11).
Important: Verify that the combination valve metering rod is depressed during bleeding.
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to MANUAL BLEEDING or PRESSURE BLEEDING .
- Return to Diagnostic System Check - ABS .
