Removal Procedure

CAUTION:

Refer to EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) SYSTEM CAUTION in Cautions and Notices.

  1. Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (6.0 L w/RPOs Y91 and Z88) , Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement (4.8 L, 5.3 L, and 6.0 L) in Engine Mechanical.

  2. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. Refer to Exhaust Gas Recirculation Valve Replacement (6.0L) .
  3. Remove the EGR pipe (2) to intake manifold fasteners.
  4. Remove the EGR pipe to exhaust manifold fasteners.
  5. Remove the EGR pipe mounting fasteners from the right cylinder head.
  6. Remove the EGR pipe.
