Installation Procedure

  1. Install the glow plug relay.

  2. Slide the glow plug relay inward to engage it to the glow plug controller housing.

  3. Set the glow plug controller onto the studs.

  4. Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

    Install the glow plug controller nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

  5. Install the glow plug relay terminal wires and nuts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the nuts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

  6. Install the glow plug controller cover.

  7. Install the upper intake manifold sight shield.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

  8. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary Battery) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Single Battery) in Engine Electrical.
