Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the mating surfaces on the air intake pipe (1) and the turbocharger (3).
  2. Install the air intake pipe on the turbocharger.
  3. Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.

    Install the 3 air intake pipe mounting bolts.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the air intake pipe bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  4. Install air intake duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
  5. Install PCV valve hose.
  6. Install glow plug relay assembly. Refer to Glow Plug Relay Replacement (California) , Glow Plug Relay Replacement (Federal) .

  7. Install the upper intake manifold sight shield.

    Tighten 

    Tighten the upper intake manifold sight shield bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).
