Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Replace the O-ring seals exposed during component service in order to reduce the risk of fire and personal injury that may result from a fuel leak.
    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cables.
  2. Loosen filler caps to relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting And Jacking The Vehicle in General Information.

  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.

  7. Clean both fuel pipe connections and surrounding areas at the fuel pump before disconnecting to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.
  8. Disconnect both fuel pipes from the pump.

  10. Slide the pump out of the bracket.
  11. Cap the fuel pipes.
