Conditions For Setting DTC
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 GMC Sierra and 2000 Chevrolet Silverado. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
DTC sets when passenger deployment loop voltage and resistance tests are not within a specified range.
DTC will set if:
- IGNITION POSITIVE VOLTAGE is within normal operating range.
- Driver frontal deployment loop is not shorted to voltage.
- Driver frontal deployment loop is not shorted to ground.
- SDM detects driver frontal deployment loop resistance is greater than 4.8 ohms for 300 milliseconds.
- SDM detects driver frontal high circuit voltage is less than 2.4 volts and driver frontal high to frontal low deployment loop resistance is 6 ohms or greater for 300 milliseconds.
