Diagnostic System Check
NOTE:
For circuit reference, see WIRING DIAGRAMS .
- Install scan tool. If scan tool powers up, go to next step. If scan tool does not power up, diagnose data link communications. See DATA LINK CONNECTORS article in WIRING DIAGRAMS.
- Using scan tool, attempt to establish communication with 4WAL sensors, PCM and instrument panel cluster. If scan tool communicates with all of the control modules, go to next step. If scan tool does not communicate with any of the control modules, go to TEST G: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- Using scan tool, display DTCs for the 4WAL sensors, PCM and instrument panel cluster. If scan tool displays any DTCs for the control modules, go to next step. If scan tool does not display any DTCs for the control modules, go to SYMPTOM TESTS under SYMPTOM TESTS.
- If scan tool displays any DTCs that begin with a "U", DTC C0292 or DTC C0297, go to TEST G: SCAN TOOL DOES NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CLASS 2 DEVICE under SYMPTOM TESTS. If any other DTCs are present, go to next step.
- If DTC P0500, P0562, P0563, P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0605, P1621, P1381 or P1571 are preset, diagnose affected DTC(s). If other DTC(s) are present, go to next step.
- If DTC B1367 is present, diagnose DTC B1367. If any other DTCs are present, diagnose affected DTC(s).
