Preliminary Checks

  1. Check all fuses. Ensure all connectors in system are mated correctly. Using a scan tool, check for engine performance related DTCs. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
  2. Check for broken or partially broken wires. Check for correct installation of aftermarket electronic equipment. Ensure all grounds are clean and tight.
