Charge Indicator Light Always On
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect generator connector. Turn ignition on. If charge indicator light is on, go to next step. If charge indicator light is off, go to step 3 .
- Check charge indicator control circuit (Brown wire) for short to ground. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . If problem was not found, go to step 4 . If problem was found, repair as necessary and go to step 5 .
- Replace generator. See GENERATOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Go to step 5 .
- Replace Vehicle Control Module (VCM) and retest. See REMOVAL, OVERHAUL & INSTALLATION - CARS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.
- Operate system in order to verify repair.
