Test I: Memory Seat Feature Inoperative

  1. Perform DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Go to next step.
  2. Using DVOM connected to ground, measure voltage at seat memory module connector C3 terminal "B" (Orange wire). See Fig 1 . If voltage is near battery voltage, go to next step. If voltage is not near battery voltage, go to step  6 .
  3. Remove RAP fuse from underhood fuse block to remove power from seat memory module. Check Black wire between seat memory module and ground for high resistance or open. If problem was found, repair as necessary. Reinstall RAP fuse in underhood fuse block, and then go to step  7 . If problem was not found, reinstall RAP fuse and go to next step.
  4. Check Black wire between seat adjuster switch and ground for high resistance or open. If problem was found, repair as necessary, and then go to step  7 . If problem was not found, go to next step.
  5. Replace seat memory module. See SEAT MEMORY MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. After repairs, go to step  7 .
  6. Repair Orange wire between seat memory module and body relay box for high resistance or open. After repairs, go to next step.
  7. Operate system to verify repair.
