Remote Keyless Entry Systems - Old Style: Description

Remote keyless entry system allows driver to operate vehicle door locks and rear cargo doors or liftgate window (utility models) release from outside vehicle using a remote transmitter. Transmitter must be within 33 feet (10 meters) of vehicle for receiver to detect coded signal. There are 2 systems used on these vehicles. Base system can be identified buy a 2 or 3 button transmitter. Third button is for cargo doors or liftgate on utility vehicles. Base system uses a Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) to activate door lock system. Luxury system can be identified buy a 4 button transmitter. Luxury system is on utility vehicles only. Luxury system uses Body Control Module (BCM) as receiver and BCM operates door lock functions.
